Help for parents
Answers to the questions parents ask most. If yours isn't here, write to us.
Write to us
Email hello@mibuu.com. A person reads every message.
If your question is about Friends or server data, add your kid's Nickname. You can see it on the Online and privacy card in the Parent Area. Please don't send your kid's real name.
Common questions
What is the grown-up gate?
The Parent Area sits behind a gate so kids can't buy things or change settings. If you turn on "Unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or phone lock" on the Family page, the gate asks for the phone's own lock. You can also set a 4-digit PIN. With neither, the gate shows a nine-digit number and asks you to type some of its digits counted from the right. It takes an adult a few seconds and is hard for a kid. The game also asks you through the gate before a show-off card leaves the game.
I forgot the PIN. What now?
Tap "Forgot PIN?" on the gate. If the phone has a lock, the game asks for it (Face ID, fingerprint or passcode). On a phone with no lock, it asks the written question.
How do I restore purchases?
Open the Parent Area, go to the Shop page and tap "Restore purchases". Packs belong to the store account that bought them, so they work on every phone signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account. The game also checks with the store each time it opens.
Does Family Sharing work?
Yes, on iPhone. Every pack and Mibuu Plus can be shared with Apple Family Sharing. On Android, a pack stays with the Google account that bought it. If the store says a parent has to approve purchases first, you can do that in Apple's Family Sharing or Google Family Link.
How do I get a refund?
Apple and Google take the payment, so refunds go through them. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google from your order history in Google Play. When a refund goes through, that pack's items quietly leave the game.
How do I delete my kid's data from your server?
In the Parent Area, open the Family page, find the Online and privacy card and tap "Delete server data", then "Delete". The phone has to be online. Our server deletes your kid's account, Nickname, Mibuu, Room snapshot, Friends, scores and reactions right away, and the game turns online features off. Everything on the phone stays. You can also email privacy@mibuu.com with your kid's Nickname.
What are Quiet Hours?
Times when the Mibuu sleeps and its Needs pause, so it never needs care during the night or school. They start at 21:00 to 07:00 every day and 08:30 to 15:00 on weekdays. You can change both on the Family page of the Parent Area. A window that starts and ends at the same time is off.
How do Friends work?
Only in person. One kid opens Friends and taps "My code" to show a QR code, which changes every 10 minutes. The other kid taps "Scan" and points the camera at it. That's it: they're Friends. There is no search, no friend requests from strangers and no chat. Friends see each other's Nickname, Mibuu, Room and Garden and today's challenge scores. You can remove a Friend in the Parent Area.
How does Pairing work?
Two Friends whose Mibuus are both Grown can Pair. Each kid taps "Pair" on the other, within two minutes of each other. Each Mibuu must have been with its kid for at least a day. Both kids get a new Egg that mixes the two Mibuus' DNA, and each old Mibuu moves to its kid's Collection.
What happens if we lose the phone or get a new one?
The game lives on the phone. We don't keep a cloud copy, so a new phone starts with a new Egg. On Android the game isn't included in phone backups. On iPhone, your iCloud backup may include it. Packs come back with "Restore purchases".
Can I turn off the online features?
Yes. The Online and privacy card in the Parent Area has one switch for Friends, Friend visits, Friends' scores, Pairing and sharing. With it off, the game sends nothing to our server and your kid keeps playing everything else.
